About U, MUNA’s debut album, was recorded at the end of the year and released in early 2017. Featuring the hit “I Know a Place,” it was co-produced by the band and Dan Grech-Marguerat (Radiohead, Lana Del Rey) and peaked at number ten on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. “In My Way,” a follow-up non-album single, was released in September of that year, right before they went on tour with Harry Styles. The trio made a comeback in 2019 with Saves the World, a more somber sophomore full-length that matched its predecessor’s Heatseekers chart success.
In 2021, MUNA signed to Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory label. In 2022, the group released the single “Silk Chiffon,” which included a cameo by Bridgers and was featured on their fourth long-player, MUNA. The album peaked at number 21 on the Top Alternative Albums chart and was listed on the Billboard 200. Their EP, Live at Electric Lady, was also published that year, and it included a version of Taylor Swift’s song “August.” In April 2023, the non-album single “One That Got Away” was released.
